Press Release

FluidIT, a Yorkshire-based IT management consultancy, has grown to a 15-strong team since their move into the Leeds Digital Hub in 2017. As the business expanded,
employee development emerged as a key focus. Leap like a Salmon, professional development experts and Digital Hub co-workers, stepped in to support the growing company.

“We want people to grow with our business and were looking for the right CPD partner. Leap’s platform provides exactly what we need and there’s the added benefit of being fellow members of the Digital Hub”, said FluidIT Director Jonty Abbott.

Karen Waite, Director of Leap like a Salmon, said, This is an exciting collaboration and we are delighted to be working with such a forward thinking company who value their employees and that we have been able to provide the solution for their people to continue to develop and grow with the business.”

The FluidIT approach sees their employees integrate with clients, working onsite with top companies in the region including NG Bailey and J Tomlinson. FluidIT employees look to work out of their Leeds office one day a week. The Leap CPD Hub allows FluidIT staff to connect with managers online and to personalise their professional development.

“It makes the process of capturing your skills, objectives, and feedback much easier. It’s great that I can choose to share specific documents or keep them private. It’s very handy for appraisals,” said consultant Erika Sukevic.

Working in collaboration with Leap, FluidIT consultant Andrew Charteris customised the CPD Hub in line with their goals and objectives, including plans and templates for feedback and appraisals.

Andrew Charteris said, “The design is simple and straightforward. It’s great that we only see the categories and fields that we’re using.”

The Leap CPD Hub is a smart solution for all organisations looking to support sustainable growth by recruiting and keeping the best people. A key factor in retention is developing your people and offering a career path with upward mobility. 87 per cent of Millennials say professional development is very important to them*.

Karen Waite said, “Recent research shows learner expectations for training to be just in time, just enough, and just for me. The key motivator is personalisation so individuals engage in their learning and development.

Awareness of trends and changing expectations is important to understand, being responsive and agile, is essential. We ensure we keep current and our expertise is on hand giving guidance and support to ensure self-awareness and engagement. With FluidIT we have customised the platform in line with their goals and objectives and each individual can personalise elements of their ePortfolio. This has enabled a positive approach, responsibility for continuing professional development, and progress towards their goals and objectives.”
