About

Background

The design and development of our system for managing your development and career online was initially undertaken by Sheffield Halllam University. This was a great opportunity and exciting collaboration as they are at the cutting edge of innovation and technology as a University. It also gave us a solid foundation and framework for us to build our unique system.

Established in 2010 when the idea of online CPD became a reality.
Prior to launching into developing something we didn’t know if there was even a market for or what the functionality would be, we commissioned a leading e-learning organisation to research this. Their investigations were carried out over a 10 month period and resulted in giving us the insight about what people wanted in a system for managing online CPD and that there was a market for it and so our journey begins…

Karen’s vision is to give everybody equal access and opportunity to engage fully with their personal and professional development and develop rich, sustainable, reflective practice. Therefore, we have committed to giving free access and use of our CPD log, which records your activity and CV Builder to keep you up to date with your career progress.

What Our Customers Are Saying

“Adopting leap enabled us to update and streamline our process of tracking our trainee’s development”

Central to teacher training is the Professional Development Portfolio (PDP) which supports the development of trainees’ progress in relation to the Standards set by Education and Training Foundation. As a teacher training provider we were in search of an e-portfolio that would provide us with an official representation of trainee teachers learning experience and skill achievement, moreover trainees needed lifetime access post qualification.
In September 2015 we made the transition over to the Leap like a Salmon e-portfolio system. Leap like a Salmon is accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and can be accessed through a computer/laptop, mobile or tablet device. With this flexibility trainee teachers can stay in contact with one another anytime, anywhere. As teacher trainers we are able to have instant access to all of trainee’s progress against each of the teaching standards. Adopting leap enabled us to update and streamline our process of tracking our trainee’s development
